We have just returned from a wonderful cruise on Viking Sea from Athens to Venice. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage for five days which was far from ideal but Viking staff provided us with toiletries and also laundered our clothes each evening returning them early next morning. Our cabin stewards, Angel and Rhuel went beyond the call of duty to help us out with a few other missing item. The food was very good, the cleanliness was excellent and most importantly, the Staff were lovely.

So much so, that no other cruise line I've experienced can compare. The staff was attentive to the smallest details. Passengers lack for NOTHING except for some of the chronic negatives on other cruise lines such as casinos, poor food prep, nickel and diming passengers for EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. We did the included excursion and had a hopeless guide, so our review would not have been favourable. We opted for the drinks package for upgraded wines and if you like wine is worth doing and they have a good wine list. The wait staff were pleasant and I felt well looked after particularly by Marion. My mother particularly liked not having to search out a restaurant at the end of a day as you normally have to when travelling and because the menus changed daily to reflect location, it did not get samey. The rooms are small but storage is well designed so that was fine.

I’m pretty impatient and hated the long lines. Everyone still has to be back on board at the same time, so for certain port stops, you would get much less time in town if you were part of the last disembarkation group. If you want a great view, Viking offers an optional tour that takes you all the way to the very top! I had already been to Cologne on a previous trip so instead, we opted for a palace excursion. It’s inconvenient for those who want to bring young grandchildren or their kids, but for us, it was one of the best aspects of sailing with Viking. I genuinely can’t imagine sailing on a massive cruise ship filled with families anymore—Viking’s child-free, small luxury cruise ships have ruined me.

I would have laughed in your face if you had told me that I’d be writing a Viking Cruises review a few years ago. Booked a trip just before covid hit which had to be canceled for obvious reasons. Received most monies back but they held $1400 back which had to be used by 4/22.Just booked a $25000 trip with them and ask them to extend $1400 to July which they refused.
The Currency Exchange offices charge commissions. ATM's, or bankomats, tend to be the least expensive way to obtain local currency. As in any large city, it is important to keep an eye out for pickpockets, especially in crowds. Men should not carry wallets in back pockets, and women should not let purses dangle.
I hope I can return and review this with a higher rating. They had my traveling companion on a different flight to Amsterdam. 3.5 hrs on the phone to get it straightened out and of course more $$ out of pocket.
Subway stops most utilized by tourists are Mustek, the city center; Staromestska, Old Town; and Hradcanska, Prague Castle. Streetcar, number 22, stops at Prague Castle. We opted to extend our stay in Europe after the cruise.
I had spent several weeks in STP years earlier on business, bit if this has been my first - or only time in STP... I would have been heartbroken and very disappointed. It's well worth the $$$ in to use the private tours with the small vans or mini busses... We use dedicated people and clever technology to safeguard our platform. I had a reservation for the Heart of Delta Cruise including premium economy for the air portion.
I was advised after booking and making my deposit that I was being downgraded to economy. I then called and was told if I wanted premium economy I would now have to pay a higher price. This is called bait and switch and is unethical if not down right fraudulent. Just received an email from Viking informing us that half of the Xmas markets we were suppose to visit will not be open. They marketed the cruise as a Xmas market cruise which is why we booked it.
My wife and I, both seniors, booked a Viking Rhine river cruise 3 years ago. COVID hit and Viking gave us the option of a refund or credit for future use. We took the credit and rebooked for this October.
